They lost one of the babies tonight. The one that was originally most at risk in which the water had already broken. Please pray for them all, this was a huge surprise, no contractions. All are of course very distraught right now…. They are grieving over the loss and have great concern about the other children. Infection and more contractions are the biggest threats to the babies safe delivery.

Better news – Dan  (Donita’s husband) has a better prognosis than originally thought and was able to go home instead of a rehabilitation center.

Prayers still needed for Sharon – her surgery is today at Stanford.

And, Theresa's dad had open heart surgery in Cleveland today. 

Please pray for all of these people and their families.

 UPDATE:
     I want to thank-you for asking people to pray for Anita and want to give a short synopsis of the events as they happened.  On Sunday night about 6:00 PM Tom and I got a very tearful call from our son-in-law Tim, who said they were at St. Vincent's Hospital and things were desperate and did not look good for their triplets.  (The triplets are at about 20 1/2  weeks gestation).  Tom and I jumped in the car and headed towards St. Vincent's, praying.
    When we got to St. Vincent's the situation was horrible.  We immediately went to Anita's room which is in an area of the hospital of high risk and troubled pregnancies.  There Anita was on a bed in which her feet were very elevated and as I grew close to her bedside she was crying and told me that she did not want her babies to die.  We then were sent to our own waiting room and told that Anita would most likely loose her babies that night.    Now at this point we all talked about how this was to happen and Anita's frame of mind.  The doctors told us that Anita would not get over this for a very long time.  The team of doctors and nurses began to wheel carts into Anita's room for the babies.  Then the water broke for one of the babies.  During this whole time period, which I don't exactly know when, I called Becky to have everyone she can pray for Anita.  Things were very grim.  Tom and I then went to the chapel to pray.  When we came back, Anita was still in labor but no babies.  As the hours passed, still no babies and Anita's labor started to dissipate.  At midnight Tom and the rest of the family went home.  I stayed in case things should start back up again.  In the morning, the doctor came in and told us that they were surprised that Anita was still in one piece.  He also told us that if she managed to stay on this path of next to no labor for 24- 48 hours from the time of the water breaking that she would be able to most likely carry her babies for a longer pregnancy......provided that no infection would set in and of course if the labor does not start again.  But they do not know exactly how the labor was stopped.  I do....it was prayer...it was many voices................Thank-you........a million, trillion times.
    Anita still has a few more hours on her mantra for this episode, but she looks a hundred times better, the labor has pretty much stopped and their is a glimmer of hope and light in her room.  She will finish her pregnancy from that room, she will not be coming home until her journey is over.
     In order for the babies to have a viable life she needs to carry them at least for 24 weeks they say.  We all have tragedies in our lives and we are all very busy, but will you continue to pray?  Please?  When it comes right down to it that is all we have and for now I know what happened was a true miracle.  Thank- you again.  THE POWER OF PRAYER - All praise thanks and honor to the Lord above.

Sharon is heading to Stanford Medical Center for brain surgery on the 15th.  She and her husband will be gone for 11 days.  She would like prayers for her upcoming surgery and for her children who will be without their parents during this difficult time.  Please keep them all in  your prayers that they will be safe and that Sharon will come through the surgery with no problems.  Also pray that God will guide the doctors as they operate on Sharon.  Thank you.

Our friend, Chris, has been battling cancer for the last few years.  Tonight he is in the hospital and the doctors say if this new medicine works, he will get better for now, but if it doesn't, then we may lose him.  Pray for his recovery.  Also, if recovery is not God's will, then please pray for Chris to have peace. Also, pray for his family as they go through this difficult time.

Cheryl – a mother in her fifties is dying of cancer – in the final weeks – Please pray for a peaceful death and relief of extreme pain.  And for her daughter (in her early 20’s with a small baby) taking care of her and bringing her into her home for her final hospice care and for her friend Tammy that is trying to help the family and has recent losses that make it difficult to separate her grief from her friends – in other words she has not had time to heal but has opened her heart to this family and is helping organize the activities that will need to occur leading up to and after Cheryl’s death.

 I am asking for your prayers....I was just diagnosed with papillary carcinoma, which is thyroid cancer.  This is an extremely treatable form of cancer with no chemotherapy involved!  I meet with my surgeon tomorrow to schedule removal of my entire thyroid.  After surgery, I will just need to swallow a slow-releasing radiation capsule which should get rid of any remaining cancerous cells then be on thyroid meds forever.  Thank you in advance for your prayers.  ~ Parri

Please keep my cousin Kara in your prayers. She is 22 years old and attends Tennessee State. There is a good chance she is going to need surgery AGAIN on Wednesday for her back. She had the first operation in late October to fuse two vertebrae together. She had another surgery around Thanksgiving for an infection and was released with an IV that she has been administering to herself 3 or 4 times a day. Tonight we found out that she is still in pain and has an appointment with the Doctor on Tuesday. If the staph infection hasn't improved. She is going to have her third surgery on Wednesday. The injury was a result of Volleyball injury, her favorite sport and she won't be able to play again.  Please pray that she will not need to have surgery again, that the infection will clear and that she will make a full recovery soon. She is suppose to start her Student Teaching in January but needs a Clean Bill of Health First. She wil Graduate with her Teaching Degree at the end of the School Year.

URGENT : I Have a liver biopsy scheduled for 12/6 @ St. Luke's Hospital. An MRI suspects cirrhosis. Praying for safety, no cirrhosis and a quick recovery (must rest @ home 3 days or so.)
I will undergo procedure @ appx. 9am Thurs & be rested and monitored in a hospital bed for 6 hours. May the dr. have skilled hands (Dr. Gabe)
Praying that other procedures/tests this month will go well & not interfere w/ the holidays.

I have scheduled a LIVER BIOPSY on Thur. Dec. 6th @ 8am @ St. Luke's Hospital uptown Manhattan. It will be done by my liver specialist Dr. Gabe; although young he is a highly trained Dr., trained by a world class gastroenterologist.
Please pray that NO CIRRHOSIS will be found & for quick healing. I will have to remain at St. Luke's in bed for 6 hours & then rest the next few days.

Even though not a major surgery there are risks involved:
Liver Biopsy: In a liver biopsy (BYE-op-see), the physician examines a small piece of tissue from your liver for signs of damage or disease. A special needle is used to remove the tissue from the liver. The physician decides to do a liver biopsy after tests suggest that the liver does not work properly. For example, a blood test might show that your blood contains higher than normal levels of liver enzymes or too much iron or copper. An x ray could suggest that the liver is swollen. Looking at liver tissue itself is the best way to determine whether the liver is healthy or what is causing it to be damaged.

I also had to stop today taking Gout medications and other items; please note the last time I missed 5 days of gout meds I couldn't walk & had to be taken & admitted to the hospital. Praying that I can get through all of this until Thursday morning.

I NEED YOUR PRAYERS; I recently dodged a cancer possibility--praying that the possibility of cirrhosis will be another false one & that as I'm off gout meds--for no mobility problems, In Jesus name.    !Rick, Brooklyn, NY

Please pray for my sister, Lynn, age 55. she just checked herself in to a mental health ward last week for severe depression. She has a 11 year old deaf daughter , Makayla, who is staying with a friend during this ordeal. Lynn said this has been going on for about a year and she hasn't been taking care of Makayla like she should be. She finally got to her breaking point!

I had received an email that I won a UK lotto. And they have asked me to transfer fund for the cost of transfer of the winning lotto. I really didn't have the money to do so and am going through a lot of financial difficulties and getting this little money would help take off a lot of strain and pay of the loans that I had taken in emergencies. I had to borrow the money to pay for the cost of transfer from the bank. which means I owe more money. I don't even have the proper money to have both meals a day as the job does not pay me well too. Please pray that there is no hassle in the transfer of the funds that I have won. And everything goes well. Also pray that I get a good job and so does my fiancé and pray for the good health and well being of our families. Pray that God makes me and my fiancé's love grow more and more by the day no matter the difficulties we face and that we are able to fulfill our dreams. Amen

Please pray for me that my boyfriend and I will get back together again.  I lost him about a week ago through an act of getting mad at him and leaving and now he refuses to speak to me ever again.  We only got into a fight once – this one- and this was over me being untrustful of a female friend (she was requesting to move into his house, so I didn’t feel out of line being angry).  Through a few e-mails he said nothing will change his mind about me, but I believe in prayer that can be changed and also since we were very close.  I am asking that you pray that his feelings will be reversed and he will miss me and feel the love for me again and talk this out and get back together.  Right now he is in Europe for 15 days, so I’m praying he will have a change of heart by the time he gets back on August 18th.  I am in such agony over this break up.  Right now I feel like “nothing” is every going to make me feel better.  Thank you kindly.    ~Patty

This is a special prayer request from a family member for her mother who lives in California. The test is today 7/24:  We just found out this evening that my mom (Betty) is going in for an angiogram tomorrow morning to investigate further her worsening heart problems.  She and all of our family would feel so comforted by any prayers you feel led to lift up for Betty, the doctors, and that the process would be successful and bring needed information to light to help guide her care.  Also, please pray that she would know God's comfort and peace throughout the procedure tomorrow, and forward.

Thank you for your prayers, concern and kindness for Bert. The doctors believe it is a virus that is causing the symptoms – the kidneys are still at a level of function that do not require immediate dialysis.  The transplant is still being scheduled for some time this summer. Please continue to pray for a healing that would negate the need for the transplant.

Clarence is going in for an MRI tomorrow and is seeing a neurologist on May 21. He has been having trouble standing up lately and hasn't been moving as well lately. So, they are hoping it’s not Parkinson’s disease. The MRI will help to rule things out but doesn’t catch Parkinson’s – that’s what the neurology appt is for. So…if you could say a prayer for him, that would be nice. His MRI April 17th at 11am.

Please pray for my family – we seem to have multiple problems and need your prayers: 
My nephew Bert is going to be admitted to St Vincent's today.  It is feared that he is exhibiting some of the more serious symptoms of kidney disease/failure.  One of which is the taste of metal, lack of appetite, extreme fatigue and water retention.  There are other factors at play.  Today is his deceased sister’s birthday – it may be anxiety induced – it may not. Either way that family is in a lot of emotional pain, please stop and say a prayer that he will not need a transplant.  

My dad who was making great recovery from his fractured vertebrae popped his hip out on Saturday night and is right back to square one in healing emotionally and physically.   Please pray for his healing physically and emotionally.  The news about the nephew is especially hard because my father donated a almost kidney 34 years ago to my brother.  The kidney rejected and my brother passed June 2, 1973.  The same situation will be replaying again if the transplant is necessary.  

Pray that faith will continue hold our family close during these trials

Please pray for Chris and his family.  Chris was diagnosed with cancer and it has been a difficult time.  He has been so sick and we  continue to hope for the best that he will be healed.  His sickness is affecting his treatment and the doctor has to stop his chemotherapy because he was so weak after his pneumonia.  We need many prayers for both his healing and our family to cope with this terrible disease.

Please pray for Mollie, 92 years old. She fell two times yesterday. The first time she apparently got up on her own. The second time was in the Dining Hall so they immediately called an ambulance. She was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection but no broken bones or anything. She also said that her right side has been hurting for about a month but she never told her family that. She always says I'm fine whenever we ask her how she's doing. She is still in the hospital under observation.

We want to express our thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts for our Erin.  You have truly worked the miracle we needed.  Erin has made progress beyond our wildest hopes.  Although she has lost her legs just below her knees, the doctors expect her to be walking by Christmas with prosthesis.  Her mental attitude is great and she is thankful that Kaleb is well and that both of them are alive.   At the time we first spoke, the doctors said there was no way she would ever walk again and to expect complete paralysis from her chest down.  They gave her a 1-5% chance of ever recovering.  The doctors cannot believe it.  For all of your prayers we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.  Our Dear Lord is so good as we give Him thanks and praise, and to Our Dearest Blessed Mother for her intercession, Our Holy Family of Nazareth, Jesus, Mary and Joseph.

Pammy, age 31, is the niece of one of our parishioners.  She was driving and pulled over into a parking lot because of a terrible headache.  She had an aneurism and became unconscious while in the car with her two young children.  She was taken off life support on Monday.  She passed away at that time.  Please pray for her and for her family as they struggle with the changes ahead.

Erin (33 years old) and Kaleb (2 years old) were in a car accident before Thanksgiving.  Kaleb is home and he had to have many stitches in his face and around his eye.  He had a slight concussion and skull fracture.  She fractured her neck and is in a brace.  She also broke her back at the 9 and 10 vertebrae and she now has 12 screws in her back.  There is a 95% chance that she will be paralyzed from the lower chest down.  She has had both legs amputated below the knees.  Please pray for Erin, Kaleb and their family as they struggle through this difficult time and give them the strength to handle what comes next.
