Dear Liturgical Minister;
Thank you for serving our community in
our liturgy, and thank you for helping us schedule by responding with
your next quarter availability. We appreciate that you are responsible
in being present when you are scheduled and find a replacement when you
are unable to attend. We each play an important role in the beauty and
orderly flow of the liturgy. Ten minutes before mass begins our
sacristans will look for a replacement for you, so that there is no last
minute hurry.
Some items for your attention:
·
Eucharistic Ministers
o Please come sooner to the altar so that the Fraction Rite
will not be interrupted. Please share the sign of peace with the one or
two people closest to you, and then proceed to the Sanctuary.
o When you return with the cup of Precious Blood, please
drink what remains and then put your cup on the cloth on the far left
side of the credence table and your purificator beside it, NOT IN IT.
Fr. Bill will purify the cups.
o After Mass,
please return to the sacristy to help with the
final cleaning.
The bowls should be rinsed with water and then poured
down the sacrarium – the sink with the cross cover, there may be small
particles of hosts left in them. Do not pour the dish rinse water
down there; it is only for the Eucharistic species.
·
Lectors
o Please check in the sacristy
15 minutes early to
prepare, Fr. Bill may have special instructions or readings for you.
o First reader:
please check that the acrylic stand for the
Gospel book has been placed on the Altar.
o Second reader: be sure that the Lectionary and the prayers
of the faithful are placed on the Ambo. At the prayers of the Faithful,
please
come sooner, (i.e. during the Creed when we say “We believe
in the Holy Spirit”) and stay through the whole prayer – until the
community says Amen.
Thank you for bringing your gifts and sharing them
with our community. It makes our celebration as the Body of Christ more
visible and authentic.
